Over the last few years, it has become apparent that additional terminology may be appropriate. While the term Software Defined Radio (and Cognitive Radio) are well known, a more useful term has been proposed. The term Common Radio Platform is by definition a SDR. However, the term CRP (Common Radio Platform) denotes a single platform that may be deployed and used for may different standards. Perhaps these are simply semantics, but this terminology is perhaps a better description of a typical implementation. The articles below cover a variety of issues that relate to the development and deployment of SDR or CRP.
