This BASIC language program will take the specified array of converter data and compute the effective number of bits or ENOB of the record.  This collection of routines includes both a 3 term and a 4 term rendering of ENOB.  Ideally, the 3 term should be used first to estimate the gain, offset and phase of the data collection.  It is assumed that both the sample rate and the analog test frequency are known.  Although the 3 term provides poor results for the ENOB calculation, the results may be passed as seed values to the 4 term ENOB ensuring that it will quickly converge to the final result.  See the article about ENOB posted on Brad's Data Converter Page which was first published in Test & Measurement in May 1996.
